JAN COOPER
Jan Cooper is a co-founder of the firm. For over a decade she has worked with clients in both the public and private sectors. Recently, Jan has focused her work in our public sector practice and is currently one of the leaders in public transportation recruiting nationally. Jan has conducted searches for chief executives, vice presidents and division directors in both of our practices. She has significant experience in providing recruiting leadership to city councils, selection committees, and independent boards in the public sector, as well as individual decision makers in the private sector. Jan has led searches for city managers, police chiefs, hospital directors, and executive directors of not-for-profit organizations. Some of her recent clients include Sound Transit, The Seattle Monorail Project, The Phoenix Center, Greenville County, and King County Metro Transit.

Jan attended Central Washington University and has served as a member of the Board of Directors of Amara Parenting & Adoption, the American Cancer Society/Bellevue Chapter, the Bellevue Chamber of Commerce, and the Bellevue Chamber Foundation. She resides with her husband, Curt, in Kenmore.

RICHARD SANDAAS
Dick Sandaas specializes in public transportation and public sector search. He draws on his extensive network in public transportation to conduct searches for local governments and municipalities. Prior to joining the firm, Dick served as the Executive Director for METRO, the largest transit and water pollution control agency in the Pacific Northwest serving King County. In his two decades with METRO, Dick served as the Director of Technical Services and the Acting Director of the Transit Department. He has also served as a consultant to CH2M Hill in program, project and management consulting.

Dick received a BS in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Washington and is a Registered Professional Engineer in the State of Washington. He has served as Chairman of the American Public Transit Association Construction Committee, Member of the Metro Council and Mayor of the Town of Yarrow Point. Dick resides with his wife, Karen, in Kirkland.
